Arlen began his interest in industrial solutions as an OSU intern at Amoco Oil in 1978. After graduating from Oklahoma State, Arlen's first job was with Koch Oil at the Medford Oklahoma hydrocarbon facility when he learned the foundational skills required for the rest of his career. After 8 years with Koch, Arlen co-founded NovaTech in Kansas City which was acquired by Arcom Controls where Arlen served as the CTO. Arcom designed and manufactured protocol converters used by many mid-stream pipeline companies. One of these companies was Phillips 66 and it was on the project for Phillips 66 where Arlen worked with Dr. Andy Stanford Clark from IBM and co-invented MQTT. Arcom was acquired by Eurotech where Arlen served as CTO until co-founding Cirrus Link Solutions to focus on MQTT for the Industrial Automation market.

Travis Cox started with Inductive Automation in 2004 and previously served in leadership roles in various divisions including Co-Director of Sales Engineering.
