Reflections on West 2025

At WEST 2025, Atombeam highlighted its Data-as-Codewords technology, emphasizing its impact on AI, network-centric warfare, and military operations.

Reflections on West 2025

Last week members of the Atombeam team, including CEO Charles Yeomans, a former Navy intelligence officer, and RADM Christian "Boris" Becker, USN (Ret.), an Atombeam board member and former commander of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, had the pleasure of catching up with old friends and meeting new ones at WEST 2025, the premier naval conference and exposition on the West Coast.

Each year WEST brings together not only dedicated individuals from the Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy, but also business leaders and experts from academia. It is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated community to share ideas and collaborate to ensure that our armed forces have the platforms, communications and technical systems a rapidly evolving landscape demands.

This year’s event offered an exceptional opportunity to discuss shared challenges, innovative solutions and new ideas.  Importantly, Boris’ session was exceptionally pertinent to attendees.

His presentation, “Buzzwords Meet the Battlespace: How AI/ML, Network Centric Warfare and Contested Logistics Come Together at the Data Level,” explored how and why Atombeam’s Data-as-Codewords is a singular development in our military’s ability to engage in the network-centric warfare our warfighters need to move, shoot and communicate faster, more reliably, and more securely than ever before. Those abilities have never been more important or challenging than they are today when advancements in AI and the growth of machine-generated data significantly stress existing systems.

We believe that Atombeam’s ability to increase available bandwidth by 4x or more, radically decrease latency, reduce storage needs, decrease power consumption, and make true, real-time data sharing a reality is truly transformative. And we are pleased to report that those we spoke with at WEST 2025 wholeheartedly agree!
